Our Privacy Commitment

KAOpdf does not sell your data. We do not show ads based on your files. Your documents are processed to serve you and deleted automatically. We will never share your files with anyone.

Information We Collect

  • Files you process: Documents are uploaded only when strictly necessary for server-side processing tasks (such as PDF to Word, OCR, or Excel conversion). Client-side tools execute 100% inside your web browser and never transmit your files to our servers.
  • Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, tool execution counts, and browser/device types to optimize system performance. This data contains zero personal identifiers and cannot be linked back to individual users.
  • Feedback submissions: If you voluntarily submit feedback through our feedback form, we store the star rating and message you provide along with a timestamp.

How We Process Your Files

  • Client-side tools (Merge PDF, Split PDF, Rotate PDF, Organize PDF, Extract Pages, Remove Pages, Sign PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Crop PDF, Redact PDF, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, Compress Image, Convert Image): These tools run 100% locally inside your web browser using WebAssembly (Wasm) and local JavaScript libraries. Your files never leave your device and are never transmitted across the network.
  • Server-side tools (PDF to Word, Word to PDF, Compress PDF, OCR PDF, PDF to Excel, Excel to PDF, PDF to PowerPoint, PowerPoint to PDF, Repair PDF, HTML to PDF): Files are transmitted securely over TLS 256-bit encrypted HTTPS connections directly to our private, self-hosted processing microservice. All temporary files are processed in isolated worker environments and automatically, permanently deleted immediately upon completion (or within a maximum of 2 hours). We never share, inspect, or sell your files.
  • AI tools (AI Summarizer, Translate PDF, Chat PDF, Tanya AI): Extracted textual snippets are transmitted over encrypted connections to isolated AI API endpoints solely for the duration of the real-time request. Raw files are not sent, and text is never used to train machine learning models.

Data Security

  • All connections to KAOpdf are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS 256-bit. File uploads and downloads are transmitted over secure, end-to-end encrypted tunnels.
  • Our infrastructure utilizes strict firewall configurations, isolated worker memory spaces, and automated purging routines to guarantee zero persistent data leaks.
  • We do not store any personally identifiable information (PII) unless explicitly provided by you (e.g., voluntary feedback).

Data Retention & Deletion Policy

  • Client-side files: 0 seconds retention. Stored exclusively in your browser's temporary RAM and eliminated the moment you close or refresh the tab.
  • Server-processed files: Automatically purged and destroyed permanently from our servers within a maximum retention window of 2 hours (or instantly when cleanup routines execute).
  • Analytics data: Anonymous aggregate counts may be retained for service stability and capacity planning.
  • Feedback: Stored in a private, protected administrative database unless you request removal by contacting us.

Third-Party Services & APIs

  • Google Gemini API: Utilized strictly for real-time natural language AI analysis (AI Summarizer, Chat PDF, Translate PDF). Only extracted document text is transmitted via secure API tokens; no raw PDF files are uploaded. Governed by Google Cloud Enterprise privacy terms (zero data retention for training).
  • Self-Hosted Document Microservice: Document conversions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OCR) are executed entirely on our own dedicated private VPS container cluster running headless LibreOffice and Tesseract OCR. No third-party conversion SaaS platforms (e.g. ConvertAPI) have access to your documents.

Advertising & Cookies (Google AdSense)

  • Google AdSense: KAOpdf uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet.
  • DoubleClick Cookie: Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to KAOpdf and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Opt-out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
  • Cookie usage: We use cookies to analyze traffic, improve user experience, and serve relevant advertisements. By continuing to use KAOpdf, you consent to the use of cookies in accordance with this policy.
