Our Privacy Commitment

KAOpdf does not sell your data. We do not show ads based on your files. Your documents are processed to serve you and deleted automatically. We will never share your files with anyone.

Information We Collect

Files you upload: PDF files and other documents are uploaded only when required to process your request (e.g., merge, compress, convert). These files are temporarily stored on our server and automatically deleted within 1 hour of processing.
Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, tool usage frequency, and browser type to improve our services. This data cannot be linked back to individual users.
Feedback submissions: If you voluntarily submit feedback through our feedback form, we store the text you provide along with a timestamp.

How We Process Your Files

Server-side tools (Compress, Merge, Convert, OCR, etc.): Files are uploaded to our secure VPS server, processed using open-source tools (Ghostscript, LibreOffice, Tesseract), and then automatically deleted. Files are never shared with third parties.
Client-side tools (Compress Image, Convert Image, Sign PDF, Organize PDF): These tools run entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your files never leave your device.
AI tools (AI Summarizer, Translate PDF, Chat PDF): Text content extracted from your PDF is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. No raw files are transmitted to Google — only extracted text.

Data Security

All connections to KAOpdf are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. File uploads and downloads are transmitted over secure connections.
Our server uses industry-standard security practices including firewall configuration and access controls.
We do not store any personally identifiable information (PII) unless explicitly provided by you (e.g., feedback).

Data Retention & Deletion

Uploaded files: Automatically deleted from our servers within 1 hour of processing.
Analytics data: Anonymous usage statistics may be retained for up to 12 months for service improvement.
Feedback: Stored indefinitely unless you request deletion by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

Google Gemini API: Used exclusively for AI Summarizer, Translate PDF, and Chat PDF features. Only extracted text (not raw files) is sent. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
ConvertAPI: Used for certain document conversion tasks (Word/Excel/PPT conversions). Files may be processed on ConvertAPI servers and are subject to their Privacy Policy.
We do not use: advertising networks, tracking pixels, or sell user data to any third parties.
